Welcome to Alpine Community Theater (ACT)

“Where everyone can get into the ACT!”

Alpine Community Theater (ACT) is a 100% volunteer organization “Where everyone can get into the ACT!” As a non-profit community theater we rely on your support to help us fund productions and provide the volunteer support base we need.

Mission Statement: To provide an opportunity for the entire community to come together and be involved in Musical Theater in order to showcase talents, provide learning experiences and offer exceptional and uplifting family entertainment.

We’re so excited to present our 2024 musical production of A Christmas Carol. This is our 21st year of producing exceptional family entertainment for the community, and we’re thrilled to have you with us!

Directors Note: We’ve been having such a Jolly Good Time rehearsing for A Christmas Carol- the musical, a timeless tale by Charles Dickens, so poignantly told through Alan Menken’s (Seussical, The Little Mermaid) beautifully written musical score. This classic tale reminds us of the importance of friendship, family, forgiveness, and sharing our Abundance & Charity with those in need. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside so many extraordinarily talented cast members, designers, production staff members and parent volunteers who have toiled, labored and sacrificed hours of time to help bring this beautiful story to life on stage. I wish to thank them Yesterday, Tomorrow and Today for all their support and love. This holiday season, we are excited to spend Christmas Together with all of you too!  Thanks for showing your support with your attendance today!  From all of us at ACT, we wish you a very Happy Christmas, and “may God bless us everyone!”

Production Team

Laura Snyder: Director/Choreographer/Producer

Laura is President/Executive Director and Founder of Alpine Community Theater (ACT). Laura has had an active part in producing, directing, and choreographing each of ACT’s musical productions since its inception in 2003. Theatre is her passion and has been since she was a child. She grew up attending musicals and listening to musical soundtracks which inspired her to direct her own plays and puppet shows- doing her own acting, singing, dancing- and creating her own choreography to present to her family and neighborhood friends. Laura founded ACT Performing Arts Academy in 2011 where she directs Kids in the ACT Youth Theatre for youth ages 8-18. She loves working with youth, inspiring, nurturing and coaching them in theatre arts, and helping to instill skills that will empower them throughout their life. Laura has over 40 years of musical theatre and dance experience and enjoys sharing her great love for musical theatre with the community and especially to the youth she trains. Laura graduated from Brigham Young University in Theatre Arts Studies with an emphasis in Directing. She received her Master’s degree in Arts Administration from Southern Utah University.

Avery Dall-Hilton: Music Director

Avery is a vocal coach and theatre practitioner based in Utah County. She is an MFA candidate at BYU, currently studying and teaching creative writing. An avid Charles Dickens and Alan Menken fan, she has loved every minute working on this show with a wonderful and talented cast a crew. When not at the theater or writing, you can find her painting, hiking, or napping on the couch after a good read.

Rebecca Call: Choreographer

Rebecca has a degree in Dance from BYU. She was a member of BYU’s Ballroom Dance Tour Team and traveled the world with them for three years. After teaching for a few years after graduating, she took an extended sabbatical to raise her beautiful children. This is her first time back in the studio and she was so happy to discover that she still loves to dance, choreograph, and teach! She is incredibly grateful for her husband and children who encouraged her and reminded her that she can “do this!”.

Chuck Graves-Scrooge

Chuck is a late bloomer who started musical theater in 2018 as Scrooge in this musical. He’s reprised that role for 7 years now – one of his favorites. Other credits include Aida (Pharoah), Scarlet Pimpernel (St. Cyr), Jekyll & Hyde (Lord General Glossop), 7 Brides for 7 Brothers (Mr. Sanders), Rapunzel (Socrates, the Dragon) and Oliver (Mr. Brownlow). Chuck and his wife, Lori, are retired. They enjoy playing pickleball with friends, traveling (in their RV or via plane) , and keeping in touch with their children and grandchildren. Many thanks to Laura, Avery and Rebecca for giving him another incredible opportunity to work with a such a talented cast and receiving so much support from all the unseen ACT heroes who make this such an amazing show. Finally, he wishes to thank his wonderful wife, Lori, for all her support and encouragement.

Tyler Christiansen-Bob Cratchit

Tyler is excited to have his son join him on stage as Tiny Tim. Tyler age 36, and Tucker age 7. What a chance to portray a father and son on stage. Tyler has performed in several plays with Alpine Community Theater over the past few years.

Tucker Christiansen-Tiny Tim

Tucker age 7 is excited to be on stage for the first time with his father. What a chance to portray a father and son on stage. Tucker is new to the theater, and this show is his first time speaking or singing on stage.

Becca Violet-Ghost of Christmas Past

Becca Violet, a 22-year-old local R&B singer-songwriter, has always had a passion for performing. Though she loved being in musicals as a child, she hadn’t pursued theater in almost a decade. On a whim, she decided to step out of her comfort zone and auditioned last minute for “A Christmas Carol.” To her surprise and delight, she was cast in her childhood dream role as the “Ghost of Christmas Past.” When she’s not singing, Becca enjoys reading, crafting, and adding to her Coraline collection. She hopes you enjoy the performance as much as she enjoyed working on the show!

Paul Miller-Ghost of Christmas Present

Paul is blessed to be reprising the jovial Christmas Present for a fourth time and it is one of his favorite roles. Paul is thrilled to have found such a wonderful theater family. In addition to playing Christmas Present, Paul was fortunate to play Pharaoh here at ACT a few years ago (thank you very much). He has also enjoyed roles at other theaters such as Orin Scrivello, D.D.S. in Little Shop of Horrors, Bill Sykes in Oliver, Jud Fry in Oklahoma, Cornelius Hackle in Hello Dolly & Captain Von Trapp in Sound of Music.

Kelli Brown-Ghost of Christmas Future/Mrs. Fezziwig

Kelli Brown is thrilled to return to the stage after a 13-year hiatus, marking her first performance with Alpine Community Theater. She will be portraying Mrs. Fezziwig and the Ghost of Christmas Future. Reconnecting with theater through these unique roles has been a wonderful opportunity, and she’s grateful for the chance to perform alongside such a talented cast and community.

Drew Graham-Jacob Marley

Drew Graham is excited to return to ACT’s A Christmas Carol. In past years he’s played Bob Cratchit, Fred Anderson, Mr Fezziwig and the Ghost of Christmas Present. This year he thrilled to be tormenting Scrooge as everyone’s favorite dead money-lender, Jacob Marley. Other past roles include the Escapologist (Matilda), King Triton (The Little Mermaid) and Tsar Nicholas II (Anastasia). When he’s not playing dramatic figures on the stage, he’s being worn out by his four kids and buying his wife milkshakes.

Becky-Mrs. Cratchit

Becky is thrilled to be here, telling this amazing story that never gets old!   Past shows include Peter Pan-kangaroo(June ‘06) ensemble roles in Annie and Little Women (February and October‘11) choir member in “A Christmas Carol”  at HCTO, 2012, and leopard in Seussical with ACT, 2024!  She loves Mrs. Cratchit, and wants to thank her own “Bob”, Matthew Maddox, for supporting her, and their children.  And God bless ACT!

Jeff Snyder-Mr. Fezziwig

Jeff is happy to be playing a new role, Mr. Fezziwig, with some great friends from previous shows and some brand new friends from this year.  What a great cast!  Good fun to be working under the direction of his amazing wife (still don’t know how she does it!).  Jeff has had leading roles in countless productions and has played characters from Lancelot to Brigham Young, and Marcellus to Javert, but his favorite role of all is as ‘Laura’s husband’ and always will be.  Happy Christmas!

Cory Mulcock-Fred

Cory is thrilled to make his theatrical debut in A Christmas Carol! While new to the stage, he brings a lively and fun-loving energy to the production. When not diving into the world of Dickens, Cory enjoys hiking, baking sourdough bread, and spending time with his beautiful wife and delightful children. He is grateful for the support of his cast mates and hopes you enjoy the show!

Abby Henry-Sally

Abby is thrilled to be part of this year’s production of A Christmas Carol, marking her second year in the show! This past summer, she also performed in ACT’s production of Seussical and is actively involved in the “Kids in the ACT” programs, assisting in the choreography. She also works as a Dental Assistant. She is very grateful to be telling this heartwarming story! Happy Holidays!

Sofia Schofield-Emily

Sofia Schofield is grateful to be part of this year’s A Christmas Carol: The Musical. She is thankful to those she has met through ACT and treasures the opportunity to tell this heartfelt tale. Sofia would like to thank her loved ones, especially her mom, dad, and twin sister, Anabella. She would also like to extend her gratitude to Laura, Rebecca, Avery, and her castmates, mentors, and friends. Merry Christmas!

Ethan Cecil-Young Scrooge

Ethan Cecil is proud to be in his third performance with ACT and musical theater. Ethan is 19 years old and is currently attending Snow College, and finding out how tall he truly is (we think he’s 6’4). He absolutely LOVES spiderman, he knows most everything about it! and YES he is single – so be sure to send him a castagram! Ethan enjoys making people smile and laugh, and he is proud to be playing Young Ebenezer Scrooge in Alpine Community Theater, A Christmas Carol.

Jefferson Eldredge-Young Marley

Even though he’s no veteran of the theater, only having started theater a year ago, he still has plenty of shows under his belt. These include AF High School’s A Monster Calls, and ACTs Les Miserables, and even a season as an actor at Evermore Park. He’s excited to be a part of A Christmas Carol this year and hopes that you all will come to enjoy and love it as much as he has.

Brad Hanks-Mr. Smythe

Brad Hanks makes his acting debut alongside daughter Charlotte – both recruited by daughter Olivia (2nd year).
Brad cherishes his rehearsal memories and recommends local theater for rewarding family fun.

Lucy Smith-Fan
Lucy has loved being in this play for the fourth time. Her other roles include Martha Cratchit, Fan at 10, and a flower seller. Lucy has loved being apart of ACT and meeting new people. Outside of ACT Lucy enjoys volleyball and hanging out with friends.

Avery McGuire-Fan

Avery has been a part of theater since the 4th grade. She went on to perform in ACT’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Seussical the Musical!’ Avery is thrilled to be back on stage as Fan in ‘A Christmas Carol’. When she’s not lighting up the stage, Avery enjoys playing soccer, being outdoors and playing with friends. Her love for performing and her fun personality makes her a wonderful addition to our cast.

Mckinley Anderson-Fan

Mckinley has been acting since the young age of 6. She started out as a MDT kid and continued to perform with ACT Academy. She has since been in many plays including; Willy Wonka, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Aladdin, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Robin Hood, and Cinderella. Her latest show was starring as Wendy in Peter Pan. However, The Christmas Carol is her all time favorite. This is McKinley’s 4th year performing in The Christmas Carol and it has now become a favorite family Christmas tradition. Some of McKinley’s other passions includes soccer, shopping, boating, and fishing with her dad.

Henry Coggins-Scrooge at 12

Henry is a 6th grader at Lindon Elementary. He enjoys spending time with his family in the mountains and hanging with friends. He loves being on stage. Credits include Max in Seussical, Shark in The Little Mermaid and Hans in Frozen. He’s playing Gleb next month in Anastasia.

Meet Weston Klemetson, a talented 10-year-old excited to take on the role of Jonathan in this year’s Christmas Carol! Previously, he has charmed audiences as JoJo in Seussical the Musical and Weselton in Frozen Jr., both at Alpine Community Theater. With a passion for acting and a love for storytelling, Weston is thrilled to share the stage with such a wonderful cast. When he’s not performing, he enjoys building with legos, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Enjoy the show!

Erin Smith-Mrs.Scrooge
Although Erin has helped behind the scenes at ACT for the last three years, she is excited to perform in front of the curtain this year—her first play in over 30 years! She performed in plays often as a child and teenager, with roles in The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, South Pacific, Anything Goes, Paint Your Wagon and I Remember Mama. Erin likes traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
